  • Description

    This course will teach coaching tools and techniques to be successful in leading significant evolutionary change initiatives with the goal of becoming a Maturity Level 2 (Customer-Driven) or Maturity Level 3 (Fit-For-Purpose) organization at an enterprise scale. This class offers a codified Kanban Method approach to introducing and implementing change and is specifically designed to augment the Kanban Maturity Model class.

    This class is for students who have learned about the KMM and STATIK and want to learn the coaching practices needed to implement them. The course covers evolutionary change, social psychology, and understanding cultural context. Students will finish the course knowing how to drive incremental change and provide pragmatic, actionable guidance.

    Kanban Coaching Professional Credential

    The Kanban Coaching Professional (KCP) is our advanced level credential received after taken the KMM and KCP training courses and previously receiving the KMP credential. With this credential, students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of the proven improvement roadmap that will help you understand where you are today and provide actionable guidance on the next steps to improve your delivery capabilities.

    To achieve the Kanban Coaching Professional (KCP) credential, the following course requirements must be met:

    • Kanban System Design (KMP I)
    • Kanban Management Professional (KMP II) 
    • Kanban Maturity Model 
    • Kanban Coaching Practices

    The KCP is an internationally recognized credential in the Kanban Method awarded by Kanban University.

  • Objectives

    Learning Objectives:

    • Learn to leverage the specific Kanban Coaching Practices to effectively implement the coaching tools of STATIK and the KMM
    • Learn to use the Evolutionary Change Model in conjunction with KMM to drive incremental change
    • Understand social psychology and incremental/evolutionary change
    • Understand the cultural context and know the right leverage points to maximize the chance of successful, institutionalized change
    • Learn how to approach leaders with relevant, pragmatic guidance

  • Prerequisites

    The Kanban Management Professional (KMP) credential is required. To achieve the Kanban Coaching Professional (KCP) credential, students must have the Kanban Management Professional (KMP) credential and complete the Kanban Maturity Model (KMM) and Kanban Coaching Practices training. Course participants are encouraged to have read the book Kanban Maturity Model by David J Anderson and Teodora Bozheva.

  • Who Should Attend

    This class is intended to extend the coaching skills of those who have already taken the Kanban Maturity Model class and want to obtain the Kanban Coaching Professional (KCP) credential. Together with the KMM it provides the full playbook of current Kanban coaching techniques

    This class is useful for anyone who wants to gain the ability to coach a Kanban initiative with a goal of achieving Maturity Level 3 using the playbook as map and guide. This course leads to the Kanban Coaching Professional credential.
