About the Course:
The Change Leadership Masterclass equips individuals tasked with leading change initiatives with the necessary tools and mindset to succeed where other initiatives may have failed. By understanding and effectively dealing with resistance, attendees can achieve greater buy-in and success in implementing change. The course focuses on enhancing leadership skills through practical techniques and insights. Participants will dive into leadership discussions using 5 real case studies as well as discussing popular films.
The Change Leadership Masterclass offers a comprehensive curriculum that goes beyond traditional change management approaches. Participants will learn advanced leadership strategies, crisis management techniques, and sociological insights to drive successful change initiatives. Topics include leadership adaptation, cultural change, crisis coping, overcoming resistance, tribal frameworks, human behavior, social cohesion, trust-building, and evolutionary change.

Schedule/Format
Schedule:
The Change Leadership Masterclass is conducted via Zoom and spans Monday to Friday, with each session lasting four hours per day. The course is designed to be interactive and discussion-focused, allowing participants to engage deeply with the material and exercises.
Preparation:
Before each day of class, participants are expected to complete the following preparatory tasks:
- Film Viewing: Watch a designated film for discussion during the session.
- Lecture Videos: View all lecture videos provided for the day's topics.
- Case Study Reading: Read a designated case study relevant to the day's discussions.
Daily Sessions:
Each session is structured to facilitate meaningful discussions and exercises based on the prepared material. Participants are encouraged to actively participate, share insights, and engage with their peers and instructors.
Post-Class Resources:
Following the live sessions, participants have access to all lecture materials for a duration of three months. This allows them to review the content at their own pace and reinforce their learning.
By incorporating preparatory tasks, interactive sessions, and post-class resources, the Masterclass ensures a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for all participants.
Note: Participants should allocate time for self-paced learning when planning for the course.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive certification from Kanban University for The Change Leadership Masterclass.
To receive a certificate, participants must attend and actively engage in all sessions. This includes completing all hands-on exercises, simulations, and group discussions.
The Accredited Kanban Consultant (AKC)
The Accredited Kanban Consultant (AKC) credential is Kanban University’s highest credential. AKCs are accredited by Kanban University to possess a full and complete understanding of the Kanban Method. AKCs successfully coach change initiatives for improved service delivery using Kanban.
For more than 10 years, Kanban University’s Accredited Consultants have led the way in improving business outcomes for organizations both large and small. They have also advanced the method to include powerful tools used by organizations starting out on their pathway to customer orientation as well as organizations that have matured to be fit-for-purpose in their market. Kanban consultants can help your organization overcome challenges to change while moving in a direction of real economic outcomes.

Additional Application Steps/Requirements:
- Experience- Gain a minimum of 6 months using the Kanban Method
- Application- Submit a written application and application fee
- Cohort- Meet with a cohort that will help you develop your story for a panel over a 4-month period via bi-weekly review meetings
- Written Essay- 6,000 words or less from your viewpoint. This includes successes, failures, lessons learned, and a lot of context. You will be paired with an AKC mentor who will further assist you in writing your story.
- Panel Interview- Meet with three AKCs who will assess your readiness to be an AKC (about 2 hours)

Prerequisites
The Change Leadership Masterclass offers a dynamic learning experience suitable for various levels of expertise. However, certain prerequisites are recommended to maximize the benefits of the course.
- No Prerequisites for General Participation: There are no prerequisites for individuals not intending to pursue the Accredited Kanban Coach (AKC) credential from Kanban University. The Masterclass welcomes participants from diverse backgrounds and experiences in change leadership.
- Recommended Prerequisites for Optimal Learning: While not mandatory, it is highly recommended that participants have completed the following courses before enrolling in the Change Leadership Masterclass:
- Kanban Management Professional (KMP) Courses: Completion of the Kanban System Design and Kanban for Design and Innovation or Kanban Systems Improvement courses provides a solid foundation in Kanban practices and principles, which enhances understanding during the Masterclass.
- Kanban Coaching Professional (KCP) Courses: These courses further develop coaching skills specific to Kanban implementations, preparing participants for effective leadership in change initiatives.
- High-Level Knowledge of Kanban Practices and Principles: Participants are expected to possess a comprehensive understanding of Kanban practices and principles. This includes familiarity with concepts such as visualization, limiting work in progress, managing flow, and continuous improvement.
- Understanding of Organizational Maturity: A high level of knowledge regarding organizational maturity is essential for effective change leadership. Participants should have insights into assessing organizational readiness for change and identifying areas for improvement.
By ensuring participants meet these recommended prerequisites, the Change Leadership Masterclass can deliver a more tailored and impactful learning experience, enabling individuals to leverage their existing knowledge and skills for successful change initiatives.
